Midnight Moments will be in Steam Next Fest and we just updated the demo!

It’s always equal parts exciting and terrifying for devs, heading into an event like Next Fest. You’re both hyped for people to play your demo and discover your game, whilst also being afraid it won’t get good enough featuring and miss out on all the coverage of the week. But we've been hard at work looking at your feedback from the playtest and starting to implement changes based on the most requested features and are looking forward to seeing what you think of the work so far.

If you haven't tried Midnight Moments yet, this is the perfect moment, and if you played the demo before, it's worth another look because we've just pushed a significant update.

Here's what's new:

New content

• New props including posters, planters and a collection of small detail pieces

• New citizens with idle animations, your city just got a little more alive

Controls & camera

• Controls are now listed in the pause menu, no more guessing

• Camera panning and zooming now scale based on your zoom level, making it feel much more natural

• Left click to focus the camera on any point

Building & placement

• Props placement is now more granular with much more freedom, windows and decals can snap to the ground and be rotated, pillars now match the snap surface properly

• Ground pavement behaviour updated, pavement pieces can now be stacked allowing for some cool leveled creations

Bug fixes

• Cursor lag fixed: the cursor now moves exactly where you expect it to

• Audio fix: turning down ambient sound no longer causes that weird thump

• UI fix:  opening categories no longer shifts the buttons downward

Known Issue

• Poster placement issue on some surfaces

We've been reading every piece of feedback from the playtest and the demo and this update is a direct response to what you told us. There's more to come but we wanted to get this into your hands before Next Fest kicks off.
