Sponge Break Playtest Update #1

Hey everyone!

First off, we want to say a massive THANK YOU to our amazing community. The response to our playtest has been absolutely incredible, and we are blown away by your enthusiasm, clips, and invaluable feedback. You’re helping us make Sponge Break the best it can be, and we couldn't do it without you.

🛠️ Playtest Update #1 - PATCH NOTES

Based on everything you've shared with us so far, we’ve just rolled out our very first playtest update! This patch brings a mix of community-requested fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and a few fun additions.

Here is a breakdown of what’s changing today:

🌟 What's New

• 8 New Cosmetic Hats: Style on 'em. Drop a screenshot of your new favorite look in the #shareyoursponge Discord channel!

• Initial Steam Input Support: You can now play using controllers and the Steam Deck! This is a first pass, so please let us know how it feels in our #feedback channel.

• New Localizations: We have officially added Chinese and Portuguese language support.

• Cleaner Menus: We’ve separated the Friends and Public lobby browsers into their own dedicated tabs to make finding a match much easier.

✨ Improvements & Fixes

• Audio & Visuals: Various tweaks and polish across the board to enhance the atmosphere.

• Stalactite Traps: Improved behavior with a tighter, fairer damage radius. No more getting clipped by unfair geometry!

• Progression Fixes: Resolved issues surrounding save files and fixed a bug where cosmetics were unlocking before they were actually purchased.

• Level & Tutorial Tweaks: Implemented tutorial improvements, minor level adjustments, and placed additional repair bits based directly on your feedback.

• Stability: Crushed several bugs that were causing game crashes and matchmaking hiccups.

⚠️ IMPORTANT REMINDER: This is still an active playtest. While we do not plan on doing any progression or save data wipes, there is always a small chance that future updates might affect save data. We appreciate your understanding and patience if any unexpected issues pop up!
